Karen has classical creative training in big ad agencies, where she worked with a number of large international and national clients. Since forming her own company in 2001, she has become very nimble and collaborative, with a focus on high-end outdoor pursuits lodges and many things related. Today, Karen and Publicus Community partner on a number of marketing projects related to the conservation and hospitality industry.
She has branded and promoted US and international lodges, resorts, ranches, properties and clubs in remote locations, and represented conservation and hunting groups, along with nonprofits, whose business interests and relationships are often synergistic. Among those are outdoor sports lodges that include fly-fishing, wing shooting, and family adventures such as dude ranch trips and eco-tours.
Karen works intimately with organizations that are committed to ecosystem habitat restoration and environmental conservation, and she understands the various challenges those bring. Well-connected and having amassed a wealth of expertise and industry-related relationships, Karen works closely with clients in all areas of communication and marketing including strategy, brand image, and relationships.
Karen makes an effort to partner with clients whose interests match her own, allowing work that mixes business with pleasure. She gets away to her place in the rustic Texas Hill Country with a dog or two as much as she can and works from there.
