Peter Dawyot, Managing Director and Founder of Publicus Community has been recognized by East Carolina University with the 40 Under 40 Leadership Award.
This award recognizes emerging leaders who have used their East Carolina University experiences to make significant impacts in their respective professions, local communities, and on the world.
Peter received his Bachelor’s degree in Communications with an emphasis on Public Relations (’02) and a Master’s degree from the English Department in Technical and Professional Communication (’04).
Peter founded Publicus Community in 2011 after a number of years working with pharmaceutical companies and later the hospitality and real estate industry. Today, Publicus Community has emerged as one of the leaders in resort, real estate and hospitality marketing and public relations.
Under Peter’s guidance, Publicus Community has worked with over 50 resorts, hospitality groups and real estate developments throughout the US, Mexico, The Bahamas, and Central America. Publicus Community has also been a pivotal part of a number of political and non-profit campaigns, and represented numerous social media brand influencers and figures from the sports world.
Collectively, Publicus Community’s strategic marketing campaigns have helped to generate exposure across the globe and over a billion dollars in sales for their clients.
“It is an incredible honor to be recognized by East Carolina University,” Peter said . “My years at the university were the influence for so much of what I do today. ”
In addition to Peter’s affiliation with East Carolina University, a number of current and previous members of The Publicus Community team also have attended classes at East Carolina University.
